The 2025 Utah Speed Puzzling Championship was held on October 11 at Boardwalk Puzzle Company’s headquarters in Lindon, Utah. The championship consisted of four events: solo, pairs relay, pairs and teams.
The first event was the 500-piece solo competition and Boardwalk Puzzle Company debuted their new Speedmaster brand with a puzzle titled Just Desserts.
First Place: Melodie Johnson (0:48:09)
Second Place: Kyle Kossin (0:48:35)
Third Place: Mindy Whiting (0:48:58)
The second event was the pairs relay, the first time that this event has been featured at the Utah championship. Both puzzles were 210-piece personal puzzles from Boardwalk Puzzle Company: Alien Halloween and Spellbook Shop.
First Place: Kyle Kossin and Mindy Whiting (0:18:09)
Second Place: Jarom Chung and Megan Chung (0:19:57)
Third Place: Amy Paull and Calie Curran (0:20:03)
The third event was the 500-piece pairs competition with another Speedmaster puzzle being featured: Jam Session.
First Place: Melodie Johnson and Valerie Cunningham (0:28:01)
Second Place: Jarom Chung and Megan Chung (0:30:30)
Third Place: Amy Paull and Calie Curran (0:31:07)
The final event of the day was the 1,000-piece team competition. The puzzle was Charmed in Salem, Mass. by Boardwalk Puzzle Company.
First Place: Amber Whitear, Shalise Hassing, Betsey English and Brenna Kitchen (1:01:22)
Second Place: Allen Greenwell, Sammy Bosshardt, Jarom Chung and Megan Chung (1:03:26)
Third Place: Kinsey Keltz, Melynda Owens, Calie Curran and Amy Paull (1:03:40)
