Member Spotlight: Tricia Marotz

Tricia remembers doing puzzles in her youth while listening to ABBA on vinyl records. She rediscovered her love for puzzles during the COVID-19 pandemic. Upon hearing about speed puzzling, she went on a whim to the USAJPA Nationals in 2024 where she didn’t even finish the puzzle. But somehow she has kept trying. The largest puzzle she has completed thus far is an 18,000 piece mammoth. She is hoping to complete something even larger someday.

Other than puzzling, Tricia spends her time playing and teaching stringed instruments, painting canvasses and running a multi-generational household. She is a mother of four and grandmother of two.

She recently moved to Utah from Alabama, where being outside was like being in a sauna. She loves being outside here in Utah and is looking forward to hiking every mountain she can.
